Develops and provides services related to the orientation, continuing education, and assessment of the ongoing competency of clinical staff. OR experience required. Pediatric experience preferred. Educator experience preferred. Responsibilities include participating in the development, coordination, and delivery of all education activities on assigned unit(s), using the best available evidence to guide practice decisions, participating in research activities, quality improvement, or evidence-based practice initiatives, assisting with developing specific departmental goals, standards, and objectives which directly support the strategic plan and vision of the organization, collaborating with nursing leaders and staff to assess the learning needs and competencies of staff, supporting an environment that promotes evidence based nursing practice based on nursing research, scientific inquiry, quality improvement, and evidence-based practice, planning, updating, and evaluating clinical competencies to assess quality of patient care delivered and ensure regulatory compliance on assigned unit(s), may perform clinical patient care when needed, serving as a consultant/mentor/change agent for staff in areas of program development, clinical practice, and professional development, managing the onboarding and orientation of all new employees and students on assigned unit(s). Requires critical thinking skills, effective communication skills, decisive judgment and the ability to work with minimal supervision. Must be able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action. Requires three (3) years nursing experience. Department Specific: JDC- Hematology/Oncology: APHON Provider and PALS required.
