We are looking for a detail-oriented Entry-Level Accountant to join our team on a contract basis in White Plains, New York. In this role, you will play a critical part in managing financial records, analyzing costs, and supporting operational efficiency. Responsibilities:
• Support the preparation and analysis of profit and loss statements, ensuring accuracy and timely reporting.
• Perform cost monitoring and variance analysis to provide actionable insights for operational improvements.
• Assist with forecasting, budgeting, and preparing monthly and quarterly financial reforecasts.
• Conduct reconciliations for sales, purchases, accounts payable, and other financial transactions to the general ledger.
• Facilitate month-end closing processes, including preparing journal entries and accruals.
• Monitor inventory levels and perform periodic audits to ensure accurate reporting.
• Provide operational and financial analysis to enhance decision-making and drive profitability.
• Collaborate with team members to ensure compliance with accounting standards and audit requirements.
• Assist in the preparation of documentation for internal and external audits.
• Prepare ad hoc financial reports and analyses as needed.• Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or a related field, or equivalent experience demonstrating attention to detail.
• At least 1 year of accounting experience, preferably in a manufacturing or food processing environment.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including advanced formulas and data analysis.
• Strong knowledge of accounting principles, including journal entries, reconciliations, and financial reporting.
• Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
• Effective written and verbal communication skills to interact with team members and stakeholders.
• Experience with cost accounting and variance analysis is highly desirable.
• Familiarity with ERP systems and high-volume data entry processes is a plus.
