Position Pays - $21.25 per hourPurposeResponsible for moving tractors and trailers on the premises, starting refrigeration units, preparing trucks for deliveries.Essential functions and basic duties:Sets tractor trailer combinations for loading product scheduled for delivery.Starts refrigeration units; checks units periodically.Pulls loaded trailers away from dock and secures trailer doors.Coordinates loading schedules with warehouse supervisors.Ensures trucks have received pre-trip inspection prior to driver departure.Notifies drivers of potential late load situations.Ensures returning trucks are refueled, if necessary.Assists warehouse personnel with unloading/cleaning trailers.Operates powered industrial equipment such as electric pallet jacks and forklifts, as necessary.Performs other duties as necessary and required.Qualifications:Education/Certification:Must be able to pass a written exam and road test.Required Knowledge:Must have an understanding of related computer applications.Good judgement is required for this position as there may be times when direct supervision may not be immediately available.Experience Required:Preferably a minimum of one year verified experience operating a tractor trailer.
