Responsibilities Demonstrate leadership by aligning yourself with and fully supporting company and departmental goals. Develop and perform trending analysis to drive continuous improvement across the fleet. Perform root cause analysis for incidents when requested by corporate, fleet, or plant leadership. Assist personnel in the performance of effective root cause investigations. Develop and/or implement necessary tracking tools for incidents and other issues as needed. Develop written documents to improve safety and operations standards as required (procedures, assessments, required reading, etc.). Perform and/or assist with data entry/extraction/modification in various information platforms used at power plants and in corporate roles (Intelex, SuccessFactors, PI, etc.). Identify skill or knowledge gaps among the organization’s employee population using a systematic approach to training methodology. Develop a strong working relationship, through regular communication, with line managers and leadership teams. Participate in staff calls, attend meetings, and provide clear updates. If unable to attend, arrange for a colleague to report on your behalf. Assist with procedure reviews and provide guidance for improvement. Periodically travel to NRG sites, including corporate buildings, power plants, and job sites. Working Conditions Work overtime and non-standard hours as directed. Travel up to 70% of the time. Maintain a valid driver’s license at all times. Wear personal protective safety equipment as required. Possess 10 years of energy industry experience or a combination of industry, corporate, and educational background equivalent to 10 years. Use and maintain technical and business software on a personal computer. Possess technical and communication skills to solve problems and communicate resolutions effectively. Preferred Qualifications Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Safety, Business, or related field (preferred). Maintain and share technical and professional knowledge; recognize and apply new technology cost-effectively. Work independently and as part of a team to meet goals and requirements. Knowledge/Skills Operate effectively in a team environment, either as a team member or leader. Communicate effectively in writing and verbally at all organizational levels. Make presentations to large groups. Establish and maintain positive professional relationships. Understand applicable safety and environmental regulations.
