The Jira Admin should be responsible for the administration, enhancement, maintenance, & integration of Atlassian products like Jira, Confluence & Bitbucket. This role is accountable for high availability, performance, & enhanced capabilities of the Atlassian product suite. This position should be responsible for owning, managing, defining, & optimizing standard Atlassian tools & processes to drive Atlassian best practices & increased collaboration across scrum teams.
Essential Functions
- Function as a subject matter expert ( SME ) through repeated successful collaboration with global teams in support of Jira & Confluence.
- Create, manage, & support all administrative functions associated with the Atlassian product suite including Jira Software on the Cloud, Confluence & Bitbucket
- Manage all Jira UI Admin tasks like project creation, team / board creation, custom fields, custom field values, reports, workflows, issue types, screen schemes, permission schemes, & notification schemes
- Work closely with the scrum masters & program managers to assist with process standardization
- Work with scrum masters to identify & implement automation opportunities
- Monitor Atlassian health status & keep everyone informed of any outages or performance issues Clean up stale / unused workflows, issue types, projects, dashboards, etc.
- Create training materials & conduct user - training & help-sessions for new & existing custom features & implementations
- Find ways to optimize & improve JIRA / Confluence setup & workflows, as well as identify where functionality needs to improve to meet user requests
- Promote adoption & best practices among the Atlassian user community
- Define & manage the rollout of comprehensive workflows ( with conditions, validators, & triggered post functions ), screen schemes, permission schemes, & notification schemes
- Refine current Jira processes to be more streamline & uniform for agile teams.
- Troubleshoot issues, communicate with scrum masters & continue to improve support processes.
- Develop mechanisms to automate manual processes
- Provide JIRA subject matter expertise in discussions regarding governance within JIRA
- Create Jira based reports, dashboards & planning views based on different user requirements & provide stakeholders with actionable project metrics & status reports
- Create & maintain technical and/or user facing documentation for training
Knowledge
- Proficient in Jira / Confluence administration, JWT, Scriptrunner, & JMWE
- Manage all Jira UI Admin tasks like project creation, custom fields, reports, workflows etc.
- Help in deployments / upgrades / plugin installations
- Troubleshoot performance issues.

- Should have Strong analytical & problem - solving skills with a high attention to detail
- Should have Exceptional communication, organization, & time management skills
- Knowledge of IT services & best practices for agile development & tool management
Abilities
- Should be an Excellent communicator who can work with & influence all functions & levels.
- Will need to work independently with minimal supervision
- Proficient in JQL & developing custom scripts
Education
• Bachelor's degree or combination of relevant education & experience
Experience
• Minimum 4 - 6 years of hands - on experience working with the Atlassian product suite, with specific focus on JIRA as a Project/Application Administrator
