About the Role:

The Physician Assistant at OnPoint Internal Medicine at Ridgeline plays a critical role in delivering high-quality, patient-centered healthcare within a collaborative medical team. This position involves conducting comprehensive patient assessments, diagnosing illnesses, developing and implementing treatment plans, and managing ongoing patient care to improve health outcomes. The Physician Assistant will work closely with physicians and other healthcare professionals to ensure continuity of care and adherence to clinical guidelines. Additionally, this role requires effective communication with patients and their families to educate and support them through their healthcare journey. Ultimately, the Physician Assistant contributes to the overall mission of providing accessible, compassionate, and evidence-based internal medicine services in the RIDGE community.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Graduation from an accredited Physician Assistant program.
  • Current and unrestricted Physician Assistant license to practice in the state of Colorado
  • Active DEA 
  • Certification by the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA).
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certifications.
  • Demonstrated clinical experience in internal medicine or a related healthcare setting.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience working in an internal medicine or primary care practice.
  • Familiarity with electronic health record (EHR) systems, preferably Epic or Cerner.
  • Additional certifications such as Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) or specialty-specific credentials.
  • Strong background in chronic disease management and preventive care.
  • Participation in continuing medical education and professional development activities.

Responsibilities:

  • Perform detailed patient histories and physical examinations to assess health status and identify medical conditions.
  • Order, interpret, and follow up on diagnostic tests and laboratory results to inform clinical decision-making.
  • Develop, implement, and adjust individualized treatment plans in collaboration with supervising physicians.
  • Prescribe medications and therapies within the scope of practice and monitor patient responses to treatment.
  • Provide patient education on disease prevention, management, and healthy lifestyle choices.
  • Document all patient encounters accurately and timely in the electronic health record system.
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives and maintain compliance with healthcare regulations and standards.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to coordinate patient care and facilitate referrals to specialists as needed.

The Physician Assistant utilizes clinical knowledge and diagnostic skills daily to evaluate and manage patient health effectively. Strong communication skills are essential for explaining complex medical information clearly to patients and collaborating with healthcare team members. Proficiency with electronic health records enables efficient documentation and coordination of care. Critical thinking and problem-solving skills support the development of appropriate treatment plans tailored to individual patient needs. Additionally, organizational skills help manage multiple patient cases and follow-up activities to ensure comprehensive and continuous care.

Salary: $105,000 - $150,000

Factors that may be used to determine your actual salary may include your specific skills, how many years of experience you have and comparison to other employees already in this role and how many hours are worked each week.
