Job Description

The Chemical Plant Operator is responsible for taking daily inventory, unloading, and loading raw materials and finished goods, as well as helping in any of the other operations departments. Chemical Operators are also responsible for using and maintaining equipment used to blend chemicals. Key skills include the ability to lift up to 75 lbs, frequent walking to complete inventory, checking for leaks, and opening/closing storage tanks. Operators must run skid loaders and forklifts and use respirators when unloading Acetic acid, Formic acid, and Aqua Ammonia. The role requires tolerance to temperature extremes and working outside in all weather conditions. Responsibilities include unloading raw materials, operating production equipment such as pumps, blenders, reactors, and weigh scales, reading charts and meters, collecting and labeling samples for lab testing, preparing containers for transport, labeling packaged materials according to regulations, troubleshooting equipment, ensuring documentation quality, operating various plant equipment safely, completing daily batches under supervision, following safety and environmental procedures, completing daily inventory with the Plant Manager, working in other operation areas including maintenance, maintaining a clean and safe environment, and passing a pulmonary function test with respirator clearance. Other duties as assigned.
