Our goal is to create an environment where everyone can thrive. Job Description This role supports Palo Alto Networks’ legal department by managing outside counsel engagements and legal spend. Responsibilities include selection, onboarding, performance evaluation, billing review, and maintaining legal technologies for e-billing, matter management, and spend analytics. The role reports to the Director, Head of Legal Operations, and collaborates with legal, finance, and outside counsel teams. Your Impact Oversee quarterly and annual legal budget planning with Finance. Collaborate on forecasting and budgeting legal spend. Develop strategies to reduce outside counsel costs while maintaining quality. Implement law firm panel programs and spend optimization strategies. Manage onboarding, selection, and evaluation of outside counsel. Negotiate billing rates and alternative arrangements. Oversee e-billing, ensuring accuracy and compliance. Develop legal spend analytics and reporting to identify trends and savings. Implement and support legal technology solutions. Stay current on industry best practices. Train legal teams and counsel on billing and technology topics. Drive continuous improvement in legal operations. Build collaborative relationships with cross-functional partners. Your Experience Self-starter with enthusiasm, capable of working independently and supporting projects as needed. Excellent analytical, negotiation, and communication skills. Ability to manage multiple projects and prioritize effectively. Attention to detail and sound professional judgment. Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines. 7+ years in legal operations, focusing on outside counsel management and legal billing systems. Experience with legal technology platforms, including matter management, e-billing, and spend analytics. Compensation Disclosure Compensation depends on qualifications, experience, and location, with a typical range of $142,000 - $178,000/year plus benefits, stock, and bonuses.
