Enlisted Special Missions Aviator

ENSURING THE SAFETY OF AIRCRAFT AND AIRMEN

Many of our aircraft require more than a pilot to safely complete each mission. It’s the responsibility of Special Missions Aviators to cover everything from pre-flight inspection of aircraft systems to the placement and delivery of all cargo on board. These highly trained specialists monitor all functions of the aircraft and provide weapon defense when necessary, ensuring successful mission completion. TRAINING & EDUCATION

From hands-on experience to college credit toward a degree, the path begins here to transform you from a raw recruit to an expert Airman in this field. Basic Military Training: weeks TECHNICAL TRAINING: 27 Days TECH SCHOOL LOCATION: Lackland AFB, TX STATUS UPON COMPLETION: Enlisted Airman with credits earned towards Aviation Operations Key things to consider You must meet several requirements before joining the Air Force, concerning your background, health, and standards set by the Air Force, Department of Defense, and federal law. You must be 17–42 years old, a citizen, and obtain a qualifying ASVAB score. High School Students may start their application as early as the end of their junior year. Classes in mechanics, mathematics, physics, computer principles, speech, and English are desired. Scores of 60 in General (G) and Mechanical (M) sections are required. Normal depth perception is necessary. You must maintain physical qualification for aircrew duty. Height must be no less than inches or more than 80 inches. Completion of a current National Agency Check, Local Agency Checks, and Credit checks. Completion of weeks of Basic Military Training. Completion of the Aircrew Fundamentals Course. You must be at least 17 but not yet 42 on the date of enlistment.
