Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and physically fit Fine Gardening Maintenance Laborer to join our team at Yardcreations in Brainerd, MN, for full-time, seasonal work. This role involves maintaining and enhancing the aesthetic and health of our motel’s outdoor spaces, contributing to our ongoing landscape beautification projects. The ideal candidate will have a passion for gardening, strong attention to detail, and the ability to perform physically demanding tasks in various weather conditions.
Responsibilities
Perform general gardening tasks, including planting, watering, weeding, pruning, and trimming trees, shrubs, and flowers.
Maintain garden beds, ensuring proper soil health through mulching, composting, and soil amendments.
Identify and address plant health issues, including weed abatement, pest control, and disease mitigation.
Assist with the installation and maintenance of irrigation systems, such as drip and micro-spray systems.
Conduct property clean-ups, including leaf raking, debris removal, and maintaining clean garden areas.
Operate and maintain gardening tools and equipment, such as mowers, trimmers, and hand tools, ensuring they are in safe working condition.
Support landscape beautification projects, including planting seasonal displays and enhancing outdoor amenities.
Adhere to safety protocols and wear appropriate protective gear when handling chemicals or operating equipment.
Collaborate with team members to execute garden designs and meet property maintenance goals.
Qualifications
Must be in good physical condition, capable of lifting up to 50 pounds, bending, kneeling, and standing for extended periods.
Previous experience in gardening, landscaping, or a related field is preferred but not required.
Basic knowledge of plant care, including watering needs, pruning techniques, and pest management, is a plus.
Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions, including heat, cold, and rain.
Strong attention to detail and a commitment to maintaining high standards of garden aesthetics.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with effective communication skills.
Reliable, punctual, and willing to work a flexible schedule, including weekends and holidays as needed.
Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation preferred.
