Director of Golf
Golf course in Greencastle, Indiana is looking for a Director of Golf.
Position Overview:
This highly visible, service-oriented professional will oversee day-to-day golf operations, member and guest experiences, league programming, instructional services, and golf events. The position will play a key role in developing innovative programs that promote participation, strengthen community ties, and ensure operational excellence. Reporting to the ownership group and working closely with the Event and Grounds teams, the Director of Golf will help shape the next phase of company’s growth.
Key Responsibilities:
• Serve as the on-site golf ambassador and primary point of contact for players, guests, and league members.
• Lead all daily golf operations, including tee time scheduling, customer service, cart fleet management, and point-of-sale activities.
• Hire, train, and supervise golf staff and seasonal personnel.
• Manage and expand TrackMan indoor simulator programs.
• Plan, promote, and execute weekly leagues, tournaments, and golf outings.
• Oversee player development programs, including private lessons, clinics, and junior golf.
• Work in coordination with the event director on golf-related weddings, fundraisers, and corporate outings.
• Maintain golf merchandise operations, tailored to player demand.
• Play golf with league members, outing participants, and guests to strengthen relationships and build community.
• Ensure compliance with USGA rules and facility policies.
• Collaborate with the superintendent on course conditions, setup, and player satisfaction.
• Participate in marketing and promotional strategies to grow rounds and revenue.
Requirements:
PGA Class A member preferred, or PGA associate actively pursuing membership.
Proven experience in golf operations, customer service, and staff management.
Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
Ability to create a welcoming, community-focused environment.
Experience with public golf, indoor simulators, or event-based venues is a plus.
Proficient with POS, tee sheet, and tournament management systems.
Self-starter who thrives in a dynamic, entrepreneurial setting.
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience preferred.
