CONSTRUCTION ENGINEER I OAHU/KAUAI
The Construction Engineer I is responsible for managing or helping manage construction projects. They plan, coordinate, monitor budget, and supervise construction management field staff on projects from start to finish. They must understand all facets of the job and ensure contractor compliance with the plans, specifications, and contract. This position is a developmental role, and upward mobility largely hinges on overall ability to grasp and master all aspects of the job. This position falls within the engineering field job family and reports to a Construction Manager. The Construction Engineer I performs additional tasks and responsibilities as assigned. MUST be located in Hawaii, Washington, Missouri, Illinois, or Pennsylvania.

Required Education and Experience : Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or related field; 10+ years of field/project engineering experience; Licensed Professional Engineer (PE)
Supervisory Responsibilities : The Construction Engineer I may supervise Field Engineers I-III, or other construction staff, as needed.
Work Environment : This job operates in a construction site and professional office environment. The work may include exposure to various weather conditions, loud noises, and hazardous materials. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate to high. May be required to work in confined spaces, near heavy equipment, or at elevated heights.
Physical Demands : The physical demands of this job may require the Construction Engineer I to stand, walk, sit, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. They may also need to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds, use hands and fingers to handle or feel objects, tools, or controls, and reach with hands and arms. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
Position Type and Expected Hours of Work : This is a full-time position that typically requires 40 hours per week, but the job may require additional hours and overtime, depending on project needs. The Construction Engineer I may work evenings, nights, weekends, or holidays, as needed.
Travel: This position requires travel to client locations or project sites. Assignments on neighbor islands are possible.
