Tanker truck driver

Average pay: $850-$1,440 weekly

Home time: Weekly

Experience: All CDL holders

Overview

• Tanker trailer hauling liquid chemicals.
• Home for 34-48-hours typically on weekends.
• 3-5 loads per week.

Pay and bonus potential

• Mileage pay, plus hourly pay while on duty, not driving.
• Weekly performance pay.
• Earn up to $0.03 more per mile by obtaining additional CDL certifications.
• $5,000 sign-on bonus paid over 12 monthly payments in your first year for experienced drivers.
• Paid orientation.
• Paid time off after 6 months, plus 6 days of holiday pay per year.

Qualifications

• Valid Class A Commercial Driver’s License (CDL).
• Tanker endorsement required at time of hire.
• HazMat endorsement required within 60 days of hire — Schneider’s self-paced online certification training will help you secure it.
• Live within 50 miles of Cincinnati, OH, Coraopolis, PA, Obetz, OH or Seville, OH.
