The Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) works alongside the Outpatient Behavioral Health (OPBH) Psychiatrist and OPBH clinicians in providing outpatient psychiatric care for the adult population. Such care includes evaluation, diagnosis, treatment, documentation, and coordination of medical, surgical, ancillary, nursing, and other services to achieve the best and most cost-effective outcomes for patients under his/her care. The PMHNP will work a minimum of 40 hours per week and will not participate in call rotation. This is a hybrid work position splitting time between home and St Charles clinical sites located at 360 SW Bond St, Bend, Oregon and 916 SW 17th St, Redmond, Oregon. Clinical responsibilities include diagnosing and treating psychiatric conditions, managing acute and chronic psychiatric conditions, patient education, analyzing clinical data, coordinating ancillary services, ordering tests and treatments, documenting patient care, and cooperating with other physicians and caregivers. The role also involves providing onsite psychiatric assessment, treatment planning, medication management, documentation for billing, case consultation, and maintaining professional and ethical standards. The position requires leadership, customer service, creating a healing environment, supporting continuous improvement, policy formation, and compliance with laws and regulations. Licensure and certification requirements include being a licensed Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner with appropriate certifications, an unrestricted Federal DEA number, ability to participate in Medicare/Medicaid, valid driver’s license, current BLS certification, and possibly ACLS certification if sedation is practiced. Experience required is 0-2 years as an Advanced Practice Provider with EMR software experience and strong communication and teamwork skills. Physical requirements and PPE use are specified. The position reports to the Clinical Division Director of Psychiatry and Behavioral Health within the Psychiatry and Outpatient Behavioral Health department of St. Charles Medical Group.
