Phoenix Processor LP manages an at-sea fish processor from our Seattle office. Established in 1988, we have a reputation for producing top-quality fish products sold in the domestic and international markets.

We are looking for an organized, efficient, and qualified Accounting Assistant to join our Finance Department. This position will be responsible for accounts payable processing, database maintenance, journal entries, and reconciliations to ensure the success of finance-related directives, projects, and initiatives.

Primary Responsibilities:

• Process accurate and timely year-end reporting
• Payroll journal entries
• Manage accounts payable in a paperless system, including 1099 maintenance, vendor statements follow-up, and vendor inquiries
• Prioritize invoices according to cash discount potential and payment terms
• Match invoices to checks, obtain approvals and signatures, and distribute checks as requested
• Process on-demand check requests
• AR invoice posting
• General ledger reconciliations and small monthly bank statements
• Assist CFO and Senior Accountant with other related tasks

• Bachelor's Degree in Accounting/Finance or equivalent work experience
• 2+ years hands on accounting experience
• Advanced Excel skills (pivots, lookups)
• Sage Business/300 experience a plus
• Doclink experience a plus
• Ability to multi-task is essential
• Must be well organized with excellent attention to detail
• Ability to deal sensitively with confidential material essential
• Strong communication skills both verbal and written
